Replika alternative: what twelve apps cost and what happens to your history when you cancel

Anyone hunting a Replika alternative is not buying for the first time. Usually it is about exit — cancel a plan, compare price, find a free account — and behind that sits a relationship with a chat history. The question is what switching costs and what is lost.

No verified figures on Replika itself are held for this page, so it carries none. What we collected are the published statements of twelve AI companion apps on three questions this reader asks: How far does the app remember? What happens to the history when I stop paying? And can I leave cleanly?

The answer to the third question is the most uncomfortable part of this page.

Four more apps, with fewer published figures

OurDream.ai, Xotic AI, Dondi.ai and GirlfriendGPT each have their own review on this site, but they publish fewer figures than the twelve in the table below: OurDream.ai states $19.99/month and 55 free dreamcoins at start; GirlfriendGPT states the free limit only as a 10–20 message range and no dollar price, but apps in the App Store and Google Play; Xotic AI and Dondi.ai publish no price. The comparison therefore sticks to the twelve that publish enough to compare.

How far the apps remember

Only Kupid.ai numbers memory in messages. Kupid.ai tiers it openly: free keeps the last 30 messages, Pro the last 100, Ultra markets unlimited chat storage. That is the only place on this list where memory is counted in messages and priced.

Lovescape says it qualitatively: “advanced AI chat memory” belongs to the dearer Creative PRO plan, not the Premium entry. A site configuration value caps a message at 2,000 characters — not a published promise, but checkable, and a real limit for long roleplay scenes.

Swipey names persistent memory across sessions and devices as a Premium feature, without a number; DarLink Ai tiers “Basic”, “Enhanced”, and “Living memory” across three plans; Candy.ai’s help names 20 “Memory slots” for Premium Plus. At the other seven vendors nothing is said. Anyone who wants a months-long relationship buys an unknown product at those seven.

What happens to your data when you cancel

There is exactly one exemplary case. Secrets.ai writes on its own store page that a cancelled account falls back to free and chats, memories, custom characters, and generated content remain. The same store page also says media on free accounts is deleted after 14 days; how that fits with “remain” the vendor does not explain.

The counterpart is eHentai.ai, where old unused characters, images, and chats are deleted after inactivity and retention depends on the plan. Stopping here means: the clock runs.

JOI AI deletes free-account generated media after seven days. At the other nine vendors, nothing says what happens to the history. That is the honest answer, and it is unsatisfying.

Exit is the most expensive part

Kupid.ai is the hardest case in this comparison: the terms fully exclude refunds, returns, and cancellations for used plans, and stopping the charge runs through support instead of an in-account switch. At $12.99/week that is a combination to know before buying.

DreamGF.ai, DreamBF.ai, and eHentai.ai reserve a $1.99/month maintenance fee to keep accounts “active and operational”. It hits only past buyers; DreamGF.ai and eHentai.ai name deleting the account as the way to avoid it — DreamBF.ai is silent. Three sister brands, one clause.

At the other end sits GeneratePorn.ai: memberships have a fixed term and, per the vendor, never auto-renew. That is the only vendor on this list where doing nothing is the exit.

Candy.ai sits in between — refund only within 24 hours and only at low use; beside that it grants EU/UK buyers 14 days’ withdrawal per its own terms. Whether a statutory withdrawal right for digital content applies depends on whether you consented to immediate start — we do not adjudicate that here.

What it costs if you stay

Annual commitment shifts the maths a lot. Lovescape is $19.99 billed monthly and $7.99/month on annual, billed as $95.88/year. Candy.ai falls from $13.99 to $3.99/month, billed as $47.88. Secrets.ai asks $19.99 monthly or $109.99/year.

Kupid.ai bills weekly: $12.99/week on Pro against $179/year. Hold the weekly bill for twelve months and you pay a multiple — a pricing model that makes the weekly rhythm expensive.

Two vendors publish no price. JOI AI names three terms without an amount; FlirtCam.Ai shows prices only after login. A plan whose price appears first at checkout is the wrong direction for a reader just leaving a plan.

Where these figures come from

We did not subscribe to any of these apps, and this page does not claim otherwise. Everything here comes from pages each vendor itself publishes: pricing pages, terms, membership policies, and help centers. Every URL sits below, read on 3 and 4 September 2026.

On Replika itself there is no figure here. There is no verified source for that product, and working from memory on a page about evidence would defeat its purpose.
